Our Staff

We are proud of the high ratio of adults to children in our group. This ensures individual attention to the needs and development of each child.

Acorns is a happy place to work, and we have a high staff retention rate for our industry. We also have a number of staff who have been with us for more than 10 years – giving continuity to families who have seen several siblings come through Acorns.

Staff Recruitment

Acorns is committed to the safeguarding and promotion of child welfare. One of the ways we achieve this is through rigorous adherence to the safer recruitment process.  All staff undertake an enhanced DBS and provide two satisfactory references prior to commencing employment.

We believe for safeguarding and good practice all of our staff and volunteers, including management committee, need to feel valued and encouraged, and are appropriately trained, managed and supported in their work.
