The Role of Parents and Carers at Acorns
All parents and carers are regarded as members of our pre-school. This means that you have the right to be:
- Valued and respected
- Kept informed
- Consulted
- Involved and Included at all levels
Parents and carers also play a vital role in the early education of their children. As such all the parents/carers in our community have a responsibility to support the efforts of the pre-school in maintaining a respectful learning environment for all. Parents/carers fulfill this responsibility when they:
- Show an active interest in their child’s work and progress
- Communicate regularly with the pre-school
- Encourage and assist their child to follow the pre-school Golden rules
- Working together with pre-school staff in dealing with any behaviour issues
As a community pre-school we also depend on the goodwill of parents and carers, and their involvement to keep going. We welcome parents/carers to:
- Work in the group with the children
- Assist with fundraising
- Volunteer to help with projects
- Donate supplies and equipment where possible
- Give feedback and provide ideas on how we can improve
- Take part in the management of the pre-school
